Barack Obama came out on fire last night under the arch in Washington Square Park. A crowd of New Yorkers 25,000 strong greeted him like a rock and roll prince. Some stood for hours packed into narrow park lanes to get through security. There was no room to move, let alone sit down. It was worse than Summerfest in Milwaukee. Hilary or Rudy couldn’t draw a crowd like that if they paid for it.
People who couldn’t get to the gates screamed and chanted for him. Minutes before the speech, with thousands still trying to file through only 4 metal detectors, the security gave up and let everyone through. A wave of ecstasy, tables flung aside and countless people of all ages and skin tones rushed the gates in a mad dash to see the man of hope.
He’s got everything going for him. He has better judgment than anyone else in the field given his record and his positions - which are workable and well informed. He has more experience than many who’ve gone before including the current President of the United States (who didn’t know shit from a pile peat before taking office). And unlike anyone else in the presidential race, he’s inspiring.
Every so often someone comes along that is in opposition to the miserable status quo we endure, in opposition to the thoughtless conventions and small minded direction. Barack is such a person. He should be celebrated. The Forlorn salutes him and calls upon all to help him help us no longer have a reason to be so named.
