“All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us” J. R. R. Tolkien
Biggen the quest. Those were the words my Mother uttered in a sun dappled field as my body lay sleeping. They made perfect sense, like a code that unlocked an arcane knowledge I’ve carried since my conception. Instructions not only for what I must do, but an idea we must all pursue, for an individual cannot make any lasting progress without others eventually and willfully coming along.
I think too small, oppressed by the minutiae of the day, too unwilling to stray from the confines of the plans and boundaries given to me. I must biggen them. So must we all.
While toiling to and fro we must not allow a beautiful future slip from us as it has too many times before. The world will continue to be shaped by powerful, narrow minded interests, but all the more reason to set out against them. Already, the enemies of progress plot the demise of a movement that has barely begun. The hydrogenated lard-filled flesh bags who poison our democracy do not mourn long.
Giant-foreheaded trolls like Bill Kristolnacht, Peter Bitchens, and Karl “turd blossom” Rove are already rousing their completely uneducated throngs.
Now is not the time to rest. We have not arrived anywhere but the doorway, and though we must all set out individually, our hope lies in meeting up along the way…
